Carb Free Foods
Eating a low carbohydrate diet is a healthy choice and good for people with diabetes. Over the last few years low carbohydrate diets have become a very popular way to lose weight. Eliminating foods that are high in sugar and starch are necessary when following a low carb diet.
Eating healthy is much cheaper than you think. Here is a list of foods that are carbohydrate free and packed with nutrition. Most of these items can be found on your local supermarket shelf:
Fresh Fruit: When eaten in moderation, fruit adds wonderful variety to your diet. These fruits will fit nicely into your low carb diet: Apple, grapefruit, peach, papaya, melon, apricot, blueberries, guava, cranberries, raspberries and strawberries.

Protein: Stay away from processed or pre-packaged meats which are smothered in sauces. They are full of hidden carbohydrates. Eat these proteins instead: lean beef, veal, lamb, pork, venison, pheasant, turkey, chicken, goose, duck, clams, catfish, tuna, squid, salmon, crab, flounder, shrimp, sardines, lobster and eggs.
Dairy: Some dairy products contain carbohydrates so you need to choose carefully. Always read the labels before you buy them. Here is a list of dairy foods which will fit into your low carb diet: heavy cream, butter, sour cream, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, Swiss cheese and mozzarella cheese.
Nuts: Nuts are a good source of protein and make a great snack. A handful of the following nuts can keep you energized throughout the day: Almonds, cashews, macadamia, Brazil nuts, pistachio, peanuts and walnuts.
