Low Carb Deserts

Being on a low carbohydrate diet, doesn’t mean you have to go without a few special treats every now and then. If you are looking for a low carb desert that will keep the figure trim and taste great at the same time, you’re in the right place. Below are a few recipes that are sure to delight the taste buds and satisfy sweet cravings:

Panna Cotta: High in protein, low in carbohydrates and very easy to make. Here’s the quickest Panna Cotta recipe on the planet. Ingredients: 2 cups of heavy cream, ½ cup water, 1/3 cup of organic Stevia powder and one small packet of gelatin. Method: Put all the ingredients into a saucepan and bring the mixture to the boil. Reduce the heat; simmer for ten minutes until the mixtures starts to thicken. Remove from the stove and cool for twenty minutes. Divide the desert into six small cups and chill for at least three hours.

Peanut Butter Mousse: A great guilt free desert for everyone. Ingredients: ½ cup of heavy cream, 2 teaspoons of sugar free vanilla pudding, ¼ cup peanut butter, ½ teaspoon vanilla, 4 ounces cream cheese and ½ cup of organic Stevia powder. Method: In a small bowl beat the heavy cream and pudding mix until it forms stiff peaks. In a second bowl add the cream cheese and peanut butter and microwave on high for twenty seconds. Add the vanilla and sweetener to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until light and fluffy. Add the whipped cream and stir gently until combined. Divide mousse into six cups and chill for four hours. Greek Yoghurt And Fruit: Greek yoghurt is high in protein and low in carbs. Spoon ½ cup of Greek yoghurt over your favorite low carb fruit. It is a refreshing treat that will satisfy any palette on those long hot summer nights.

Ice Cream: Not so long ago you could only buy ice cream that was high in carbs and fat. Thankfully this is no longer the case. Many of the biggest brands on the market now make low carbohydrate versions. Check out your local supermarket and treat yourself to an old favorite.
